2009 U.S. Chess Championship - Thursday, May 7 (Part 1)
The opening ceremonies were scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M. and I arrived at the beautiful site on the campus of St. Louis University about half an hour early. The event took place at the Museum of Art on campus, which is now presenting a Marcel Duchamp exhibit. Take a look at the streetside view of the building:
The exhibit is not terribly large, but it does contain a number of unique chess sets as well as a number of informative wall hangings. Here are a few samples (excuse my poor photography):
