Chess Cheating Town Meeting
Most of us enjoy chess for the game itself, or because we enjoy seeing our understanding of the game (and our rating!) increase little by little.
Unfortunately, there have been a number of alleged and suspicious activities which have occurred over the years concerning possible outright cheating in the world of chess (see, for example, my June 2005 ChessCafe article).
A town meeting to discuss this issue is scheduled for Monday, December 4 at the Marshall Chess Club in New York City. Panelists include USCF president Bill Goichberg, GM Alex Stripunsky, IM Dr. Danny Kopec, attorney Nelson Farber, tournament director Steve Immitt and anti-cheating activist Jon Jacobs. For more information, see the Marshall Chess Club website).
For excellent background information, see this ChessBase article.
