Youngsters Excel at 2006 Eastern Open
In a Chess Life Online article, Michael Atkins and Jennifer Shahade report that there was a four-way tie for first place, among GM Jaan Ehlvest, GM Sergey Kudrin, IM Fabiano Caruana and Kazim Gulamali.
Fabiano is only 14 years old and Kazim is 18. In addition, only a half-point back was Zhi-Ya Hu, 16 years old, in a five-way tie for 5th-9th place.
